In this case, i'd say that the joke was chosen very poorly. Like many others have said, i'd apologize and explain it was a joke. In general though, people aren't able to take jokes all that much because people are being raised to be more "sensitive". And not the good sensitive where you can...

I think they could make some improvements to the actual voice to make it more likable by more people.. But as for the fact that it's not a real person? It's a joke to think that any of the pop/rock/rap stars we have out right now are at all "real" to anyone aside from their friends/family...
