What was your first M rated game?

My dad let my brother and I play Duke Nukem 3D. We were maybe 8, and I want to say it was one of the first 5 games we played more than on occasion. Yeah, my dad is like that.

Old sayings that need to be renewed.

I always thought that violence wasn't the answer. Just the solution.

The ten major gaming types. Which are you?

I'd say I'm a combination of explorer and hoarder, what I'd call a completionist. I'm really OCD about getting everything. It's actually caused me to drift away from RPG's and games like that because I don't want to use a guide, but I have a need to get everything.

    Poll: Anarchism

I have to agree with Marq here. You're arguing in favor of anarchy as a form of natural eugenics, as natural selection. However, humanity has already passed through anarchy, and so has gotten basically all of the benefits. Any genes that would get culled have already been culled. And that...

    Poll: Anarchism

There will always be a need for trade of some resource. There is nowhere with a concentrated enough amount and variety of resources to support any civilization past the iron age. And if that system would dissolve once it is no longer necessary, why does our current system still persist? We have...

    Gamer for Life

I found this [a href=http://www.livescience.com/culture/090731-video-games.html]article[/a] earlier, and I was wondering what other gamer's opinions on it are. Basically the article is saying that most people who play games keep playing them. It talks a good bit about video game addiction...

    Poll: Our generation

I don't think that Generation Y will change the world. Humans as a group never change. However, technology probably will change the world. We just have to see how much resistance it will face.

    Poll: Seven deadly sins.

Well, at first I thought about checking pride, because I can't stand incompetence and stupidity. Then I realized that I have a competition in 3 days that I should be studying for, so I put sloth. But hey, I'll be fine. I'm smart enough.

    Poll: Anarchism

Do you really think that a bunch of overpowered rock swingers could survive in the modern world as anything substantial? Anarchy would led to a society and species suited to anarchy. But is that really the best society and species for the species? Seeing as how we've already passed through that...

    Poll: Anarchism

But any stable and effective administration or alliance (basically any good one) is much closer to a government than anarchism. You could argue that today's corporations are what really control and are the government. Just because there is no official government does not mean that there is no de...

Politician Says Reading Bill Is Pointless

I don't think that he means that reading bills is pointless. He's saying what is the point of trying to read them. He's saying that it is impossible to read and comprehend all of the 1000 page health care bill, let alone all of the other bills that come up, in the time that they have. The bills...

What was your first online experience?

Runescape was my first online game experience. And I always though that that game had a much worse rap than it deserved. I found it quite decent for it's cost. It actually lasted longer for me than WoW did.

    Poll: Anarchism

By no means am I saying we couldn't trade. I am merely pointing out that trading connects and leads to administration and alliance. I gave the example of the collapse of the large bronze age empires from the marginalization of trade.

    Poll: Is the law incorruptible?

Perhaps the concept of law is incorruptible, but:

    Poll: Anarchism

The only problem with this is that individual towns don't have the wide diversity of resources that we use today. The towns would have to conquer or trade, which would lead to alliances. An example of this effect in reverse is the beginning of the iron ages. During the iron age, all that a...
