Argghhh, I totally agree on the music cues thing... It serves no positive purpose in horror games. Although the first thing I did in Dead Space was turn off the music and I suspect the game was a lot better for it.

Pretty tame compared to most folks I imagine, but I spend about 8 hours on BioShock one day. I'm sure I've had some pretty long Smash Bros. Melee marathons too, over the years.

Yes, the story/characters in BioShock 2 are terrible. BioShock 1 is a helluva lot more *interesting*, but I had more fun playing 2. And that's ultimately why I play games, so I was happy enough with it. Hopefully the inevitable threequel will have a better balance between story and gameplay...

Arkham Asylum would get it for me but for the last 1/3... I feel it goes on too long and the final hour in particular is quite dreadful. Still really looking forward to the sequel though; hopefully they can iron out the very few problems it had. And speaking of sequels ironing out a few...

Uncharted 2's my favourite single-player game since Resident Evil 4. The online multiplayer's a lot of fun too.

I don't invest all that much interest in the story of the game. I'm not out to analyse the characters or the plot, if I enjoy it enough that it makes me want to keep playing then as far as I'm concerned the storytellers have been successful. I enjoyed Uncharted 2 a lot, but if Yahtzee or...

Brutal: Paws of Fury on the Amiga (maybe it was on the Genesis too). I loved that game, but were I to replay it now it'd surely suck.

It must have been something from Ruff 'n' Tumble, Bubba 'n' Stix, or some other Amiga game with "'n'" in the title.

That's pretty much what Dead Space was for me.

No I haven't tried any other games yet. Tried a few Blu-Ray discs and they work fine. I think the PS3 Slim ships with 3.0 firmware. EDIT: was just told that 3.0 does indeed have problems with Uncharted. Patch soon hopefully.
