Two years from my original post, and no clue what the game is....

Sorry to quote it again, but it's bugging me too much :) It was not a big classic game for sure, i checked a lot of abandonware sites (at least 10), but no luck. Beneath a Steel Sky and Space Quest are not this game, but this one is like the hybrid of these two. Maybe a hint: it was preinstalled...

That's the problem, i don't remember the whole interface. I only remember that there was an overburden meter: if you got too much stuff picked up, the meter went down. It was point and click style, but i don't recall the usual buttons (move/pick up/talk to/etc). I already checked a tons of...
