That was pretty much my point... which leads me to wonder (and I know it's true for me) that we all play games for that rush we get from the 'violence' whether it be in competition or in suffocating people with plastic bags. And for the lols.

But isn't the idea of a competition like pong, where you're grinding your opponent into ping pong related dust and Tetris, which awards you for making blocks simply disappear still a form of violence? And Machinarium has instances of violence in it. The player just doesn't necessarily...

If they're used properly they're great, like in the book In the Lake of the Woods, the narrator's flashbacks are what makes the story. But there have been many cases where the flashback medium is just thin and/or hollow and adds nothing to the story. Like in Prey.

Worst games I've seen so far are: The Darkness, Turok and The Sabatour. The darkness for it's horrible controls, story, video... Everything. Turok for once again confirming why money makers can't resurrect good ideas. And The Sabatour for just plain being terrible, and trying to be GTA.

My only rage was when I got the RROD with my first xbox console... I took my mate's oxy-torch to the stupid thing and created myself some 'modern art'. But, needless to say, it was the most satisfying thing I've done in a while.
