I would seriously recommend not using metal for this, unless you are used to carrying around a great deal of weight - say, your own body weight or greater. A 9' set of armour will weigh you down massively, and while it will look awesome you won't be able to do anything - and if you're gonna be...

A minimap. Seriously, would be the best thing ever. Not carrying a sat-nav with you everywhere, a full-functioning, top-right-of-your-vision minimap. Preferably with icons for everything you need.
