You are correct in saying the country is in the middle east. The country is Saudi Arabia. It has a dark green background with Arabic writing with a gray sword under it. I'm curious as to why you like it? I like all the many flags of hhe world no matter how simple.

I have to agree it's a pet peeve of mine as well when people refer to the soviet union as Russia and Russia as the soviet union.
