This is exactly the kinda thing i'm missing, i played that one too, but found champions of norrath better in my books. It seems like these type of game fell of the face of the earth when the next gen hit. Some of the things you mentioned could be fixed, like in a sequel.

Simple fix, make a smaller game for 4 people, they are all doing pretty much the same thing, so how can it be that much bigger.
