It always ruins immersion for me. I'm not sure if that's just because it's used at inappropriate times, because I'm aware of it, because I'm a film student or all three. But I do know I'm sick of it.

While I do think this is a problem with comics I don't think it's the main reason for putting people off superhero comics but rather that their is such a large body of books for each character with no clear starting point. It's easier to find a good starting point now thanks to the Internet...

I suppose it's best to start by saying that all media and stories borrow ideas from somewhere no matter how old or how creative. But anyway... Films I'd probably say the 'Star Wars' universe. Mostly the original trilogy, because that blew my mind as a kid, and even now it always brings...

My friend would claim every series that the doctor was going to regenerate as a woman, and then the master when he died. I don't think turning the doctor in to a woman would be a good idea, the writers have tried coming up with a female equivalent to the doctor in River So and god knows that...

I think it depends on a lot more than just the graphics seen as Goldeneye is still one of my favourite games of all time, but older 3D games do typically age a lot worse than 2D games ever really did.

It's my least favourite Valve game but it paved the way for their other games so we can't really complain.

I feel the way the development team talk about the game is a kind of sexist and kind of demeaning to the audience. In the way they talk about events in the game making us care for Lara, and rape seeming to be used as a narrative device for her to overcome to become the strong independent woman...
