I too inadvertently followed the Nord and wasn't aware of the choice until watching the BlueXephos and Day[9] playthroughs. I made a High Elf Mage character and so far it seems that the Nords / Stormcloaks don't like Mages very much. So thinking at this stage of joining up with the Legion...
