Okay so I've been scouring the internet for a game I played on the PS1 as a kid. It was a metroid-esque sci-fi game where you were in a truck/car thing for 99% of the game. It fired missile and bullets and whatnot, but you could find upgrades that would change the vehicle into different colors...
