technically speaking, ninjas could be considdered as a form of pirate. Vagabond that went against the law of the land while pirate did the same on the seas. when you think about it the more accurate question is "who would win in a fight: sailing pirates or sneaky pirates?"

you could try "Tengen Toppa Gurren Langun". I dont usually enjoy 'giant battle mechs'storyline but i did enjoy this one. funny, exciting and it has great characters.
