I think its like anything in life if you have to much its a bad thing.Like religion is fine when you dont go overbored and just use it as an excuse for killing.

For me I usually go for giant direct damage spells and ranger DPS because it so satisfying to see your enemy fall fast and all his friends so try an avoid me for the rest of the battle while im safe and sound behind a tank, and I think Conan said it best when some one asked what he like best in...
