I don't particularly get it. The people against the idea of a casual mode are the ones who play on hardest difficulty... so it affects them... how? Could it be that games are becoming less niche and thus no longer catering exclusively to an elite few who believe they're owed such an indenture...

If there's a single company that fits this for me, it's Sucker Punch. Even despite Capcom's recent (or maybe just more transparent) douchery, they come pretty close. I end up buying their games used if I can manage it though. Some companies I won't buy from no matter what include Activision...

The way I look at it, I've spent whatever on the game. $60-70 new, I usually buy used games as insurance against this so I can get 2-3 at the same price and have less chance of disappointment while trying out more different games. That's not coming back. I don't know of a place anywhere around...
