For me one of the main ones would have to be David Lynch's Inland Empire. It contains some truly amazing imagery, as well as the most realistic depiction of a dream I have ever seen on film. To watch, however... well, let's just say that it's three hours long and I was acutely aware of every minute.

Yup, the only reason someone could possibly dislike the Big Bang Theory is because it is such a hard-hitting and uncompromising show which strikes so devastatingly close to home. Not, you know, the fact that it isn't funny.

Except yourself of course. Oh wait. OT: It can work, but it should mesh with the rest of the story. Whereas events in good fiction seem elegant and somewhat inevitable without seeming predictable, the death of a main character can seem abrupt and jarring if not done right.

I absolutely agree. In rushing to express their disgust at The Human Centipede, people seem to be missing the point. Obscenity is not, in my view, sufficient grounds to ban something, because it's so damn subjective. Doubtless there are people in the world who find the things you enjoy obscene...
