I'm that age group you were talking about, turned 18 this year, grew up right there with Andy.
To everyone saying it should be child friendly, I should point out that The Deathly Hollows is NOT in any way a children's book. It's dark and evil and "good guys" are killed FREQUENTLY. It has mature elements that go with the mature characters and it's stupid to try to leave them out.
