The last game I really felt disappointed with was Alice: Madness Returns. While the game does have some great moments of surreal horror it is undermined by the painfully repetitive and bland gameplay and quite a few technical flaws. I had such high hopes for it too.

I am amazed no one has said Donkey Kong Country 2 or Super Mario World yet. Those two and Earthbound are my favorite SNES games of all time.
