Characters who just ruined otherwise great stories

I didn't notice it the first time through (and I can't believe that I didn't) but the character of Susannah in the Dark Tower series eventually ruined it for me. The first time through I guess I was more noticing the awesome setting and the awesomeness of the other characters, but then I was...

What you want to do, and what you are going to do.

I always wanted to be an astronaut... but I've just been too lazy to hold up the rigorous physical fitness (I'm not crazy out of shape or anything, just not even close to military standards). So instead I became and engineer and went into the same field from an opposite angle (being Scotty...

    Paying for your mistakes

If its coming from the corporate level, as in places voluntarily taking steps to make their online services more secure, then its not really a punishment. Its the company being a responsible holder of private information because, as has been shown a lot recently it seems, the current norm is...

    "Your" music

I know its probably a cliche, but I would very honestly have to go with this song by Styx. I've always thought so.

What songs make you feel depressed?

This song does it for me: And this one does, too And I think this song has never failed to make me tear up And, of course, this one And I think I'll stop with this one

Clicks and Giggles: Riddle Me This

Obvious does not necessarily mean wrong, and in this case it isn't. Or at least its close enough, since its usually "true love" that beats spells, but your answer suffices. Your go

Clicks and Giggles: Riddle Me This

awesome. for my next riddle: It burns but it does not consume, And brightens any dreary room. More potent than the strongest spells, Yet delicate as thin egg shells. A treasure which cannot be held- It builds men up or sees them felled.

    What do you play?

Bassoon FTW! Also Piano, Xylaphone/Marimba, Bass Guitar, dabbled with my brother's Baritone and played the Tympani for a school play. The piano I've played the longest, but the bassoon i tend to enjoy the most. Especially because I was the only bassoonist in my high school when I went so I...

Songs you like... from genres you don't.

I absolutely can't stand rap. I've been known to plug my ears and hum annoyingly if it ever comes on in my vicinity... But then there's this song which, inexplicably, I find rather awesome.

Clicks and Giggles: Riddle Me This

You are quite correct EDIT: and the middle two lines are referencing probes that visited mercury. Mariner 10 and MESSENGER

Clicks and Giggles: Riddle Me This

Outstanding! Incidentally, for your D&D group, I thought it was a good riddle here goes: I am the smallest of my kin; When looking out, I'm farthest in. A Mariner first reached my rest, But a Messenger has known me best. The Greeks had thought that I was two, But only one of me is true.

    That one piece of music....

I'll occasionally find myself listening to this song over and over again. Its a great song, and one of the small cadre of songs that I like which aren't in English. Once I get started on it I tend to listen to it for the next hour or so.

Favourite female fronted (and all female) bands

I've seen Pat Benetar and The Go-Go's and Blondie, which are all awesome. Haven't seen anyone mention ABBA yet, the women tend to take the lead Also don't remember seeing any Bananarama and some of the Bangles: And, of Course, in the place of honor: Heart
