Looking over the thread, seems like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Condemned: Criminal Origins are getting everyone's votes. Some really good horror games that were also recommended are: Silent Hill 2 Clock Tower 1 & 2 the Resident Evil series (I'd recommend the GameCube ports and prequel)...
