In spirit of the OP, here's why I play DDO: 1) Active Combat (and collision detection) - There's no standing there with auto attack on (well, there is, but it's not as effective); arrows and (most) spells aren't heat-seeking missiles - attacks have to be precise and can be dodged as well...

I have seen "convincing" sets of numbers in support of both sides of the global warming debate (supporting arguments and numbers for both sides can be quickly found with a simple google search), to the point that I'm not convinced one way or the other. The devil is almost always in the details...
