Resident Evil plot/dialogue as parody of horror movie conventions is an interesting idea, wrong, but interesting. At any rate, if it is parody it's poorly done. It seems more that Capcom insists on believing their audience is all 10 years old and writes down to that level.

Hard to believe Mass Effect comes to us from the same company that brought us Baldur's Gate and (indirectly) all of those other great Infinity engine games like Torment. Sigh...

You have a strange idea of 'budget games'. Personally I think a $30 US expansion to a $50-$55 US game that requires thousands of US $ of hardware to run properly isn't targeting the gamer with low levels of cash.

This just in: Sun hot. Did they really expect 12 year olds to be buying up all these games? As fickle as most kids are, renting is the only viable option for a parent (who IS paying for them) to supply a wide variety of games.

I always thought Yahtzee has been more interested in sharing thoughts on older games, movies, etc anyway. I'd prefer he take a look back on some "groundbreaking" games from the past that seem to have no detractors. Games like Ultima Underworld, Planescape: Torment, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, etc
