None of those features were pioneered by XBL, they just rounded up all the features and glued them together with money. That isn't to downplay their role in making that kind of service mainstream, just that lots and lots of smart people worked hard on them before that.

Goddammit, this always happens with big streams. They get us all excited then neglect to make sure the infrastructure is strong enough to support everyone who wants to watch it.
Who is this aimed at, specifically? I don't see why less weight is a selling point as it's not a portable and all I hear when they say 'X% smaller' is 'less ventilation so it overheats quicker!'. What about an upgrade that plays PS2 discs and has an external power supply? Way to give the people...
I'm surprised no-one's mentioned that you can't use the full Offline mode on a shared computer. If you tell Steam to store your credentials and then switch to Offline mode then yeah, you can be offline indefinitely, but those details are stored independently of user profiles on your computer...
