Ignore that, I checked the K-Lite Codec FAQ and it said to make sure I choose the MPEG-2 option and reinstalled it. Works fine now!

Well whenever I try to play a DVD in WMP, it tells me I need a decoder, and all the decoders it links to are at least $15.

I'm using windows XP SP3 and I have a lot of trouble getting DVDs to play. The drive reads them fine but they come out extremely skippy (I don't have any problems with CDs so I doubt it's a drive issue) I have WMP but that can't play DVDs without paying for an upgrade (which is ridiculous)...

I have VLC media player and I just purchased the 3rd season of How I Met Your Mother on DVD. However, whenever I try to play the DVD, it comes out looking like this: http://i.imgur.com/Oie3S.jpg The VLC website says it doesn't need a codec to play DVDs.....what can I do to fix this?

So I was watching an episode of Dr. Who on my VLC media player. The episode ended and as usual I hit next video to skip the credits. And then it went black. Sound comes through just fine but I get no picture at all. For any video. Help?
