    Instrumental music

I have no problems with lyrical music. A voice is, after all, just another instrument that can either lift up, or completely ruin, a song. That being said, I love instrumental tracks, mostly owing to the fact that real lyrics weren't present in video games until the N64/Playstation era. Well...

    Are RPG's dying out?

It seems to depend on which style of RPG you prefer. Western flavor tends towards sandbox setups and "other genre with RPG elements," where JRPGs fall more on the linear side. Open-ended (but sometimes shallow) story choices vs. tried-and-true (but not always rehashed to death) cinematic runs...

What was the scariest moment in a game that wasn't a horror game.

The eel in the first water stage of Mario 64 had me weary of underwater areas in games for years. Also, the Happy Clown from Dark Cloud 2 springing out of a treasure chest 1/3rd his size still makes me jump.

If you had 10 minutes left to live....?

Call my roommate, give him full access to my bank account, tell my friends it's been a hell of a time, and listen to Final Fantasy VI music to die with a smile.

Pokemon Gold & Silver Remakes Tear Up Charts

This has definitely piqued my interest. I'm still pissed when the battery in my copy of Gold died, taking my post-Johto crew with FEMALE FERALIGATOR with it. Gah!

Evolution: Achievable for humans? What do you want?

I was more referring to modern man than prehistoric, although we've certainly proven that in some cases bigger really is better, especially where the brain is concerned. However, what little experience I've had with public schooling is that the ones who actually want you to think are the...

Evolution: Achievable for humans? What do you want?

Unreliable people make unreliable websites. Would you like a street address? =)

Evolution: Achievable for humans? What do you want?

Depending on who you ask, we as a species don't use most of the brain, even subconsciously. One might even go so far as to say that technology is doing the thinking for us, with the net result of the unused mass succumbing to atrophy in the next evolutionary shift. Still, like you've said, it'll...

    Don't Forget To Save!

Not quite as severe as some of the examples here, but Dungeon Siege is a bit sparse with its auto-saves. I've lost 60-90 minutes on a few occasions to my own forgetfulness.

Sony forcing game devs to add content?

I'm nether terribly surprised or appalled by this, really. It seems that this ultimately comes off as a "Yes, it's time consuming, but it will net more profits for the both of us" situation. However... I can see this happening.

Evolution: Achievable for humans? What do you want?

About the only evolution humanity would make is a more "natural" way to cause mass destruction. If given a choice? Eh... how about mutating common sense back into the gene pool?

    Remember the 90's?

The 90's remind me of that one endearingly annoying friend people have. He's a bit of a buffoon, loud, obnoxious, and just grating enough on the nerves that when he was nearby, you'd roll your eyes and baton down your mental defenses... but after he's been gone a while, you start to remember...

    Your thought for the day

Life is the only sexually transmitted disease that, once contracted, has a 100% rate of fatality.

    gamer rage?

I used to have bad moments of controller shot-put back when I was far more immature, during the PSX days. I try to do more seething than raging, hopefully setting the game down for a few hours/days/whatever before I try to do more than growl or shout in frustration.

Microsoft: Hardware Failures Are "Well Behind Us"

My first never RRoD'd, the disk reader shat itself instead. Still, the #2 engine's still puttering along, though the warranty runs out soon... I honestly doubt that Microsoft has seen the last of Mr. E74, and I really can't think they're fooling themselves, much less anyone else. Still, so...
