Gameplay.
As much as I like a good story in my game, if the gameplay is crap then I'll get better mileage with a book. While with good gameplay, even if the story is crap or non-existant, I can still have plenty of fun.
The Super Mario/Duck Hunter cartridge. Remember me and my brother taking turns trying to get closer and closer to the final castle, and trying to outscore each other on the clay-shoot. Good times... good times.
I suppose Front Mission 3, the Armored Core series, and Pokemon.
Always come back to FM3 every couple years, almost like clockwork. Often playing through both campaigns with all the "grinding" and such that ensues, easily racking up a couple days worth of play by the time I put it down again...
Usually come back to these every 2 years or so; good memories that need no filter for me. XD
Front Mission 3
Icewind dale
and any of the Armored Cores from the first to 2: Another Age
Depends on mood and how much any particular game drags me in, feet kicking. If nothing does, then I'll juggle; if something does, then I'll get sucked into it and forget the others 'til I finish it. XD
