I got the GotY edition for $10 on a Steam sale. It was well worth it, and I would have paid $20 or $30 for the amount of solid entertainment and gameplay. I played solo for most of the time and jumped into some co-op games a little after I hit the top levels. It was great fun.

Decent review. However, it's worth noting that Diablo II wasn't the good game that nostalgia remembers it as--at least for a little while after release. It needed the "Lord of Destruction" expansion to really kick it into high gear. Runes and runewords, rainbow facets, hirelings, the expanded...

I had a little nerdgasm when I got the Nightingale for the first time. Even after a full clear and several hundred hours of gameplay, I still think that armor looks the best.
