Yup. I really think the hack and slash is what suits this genre, especially that with the giant bosses, there's the added element of just grabbing on and stabbing the heck out of the darn thing. The contextual placing was awesome too, you could grab anywhere and anything on the monster.

Best Storyline in any game ever?

Probably Red Dead Redemption. The exploration of the corruption of the early federal government and the encroach of technology on the dying west were all really interesting themes and I think Red Dead remains R*'s pinnacle crown of writing.

    Ezio and the animus theory

Oh you, stop pretending. I know you love and stalked all 40 of my posts, you sly devil you. Anyways, back on topic, people. if you don't want to argue with me, that's fine but don't clutter the thread with pointless crap--if you're done, you're done.

    Ezio and the animus theory

Why thank you. haha ohh suuuuuure, i'm the one "flattering myself" not you, who considers himself "responsible for me" and apologizes "for me" like I'm sort of out of control child, oh no no, i'm sure i'm the pretentious guy flattering himself and stroking his ego about it, of course. I'm...

    Ezio and the animus theory

Of course it was a lie lol. I don't associate myself with people who talk about others in private messages and say they "unleashed" something on a forum. That's pretty petty. If you're not ashamed, then why did you do it in PM? Do I know you? Did we meet ANYWHERE before on the internet or...

    Ezio and the animus theory

Yes it did. "You don't know what good characterization is" because if that's not pretentious, I don't know what is. I apologize for assuming that you're an atheist, though...I guess you're just pretentious. The Borgias were NOT the only bad guys in the game, though as I stated but EVERYONE who...

Cutscenes/Moments in games that really get to you.

Connor fighting for his Village during the Tyranny of King Washington. That was amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31Mrity0MEg Also, Charles Lee's death. It was basically a mutual respect between the two enemies in silence. Lee's look at Connor "well, you found me, you crazy bastard"...

    Ezio and the animus theory

To be honest, these days there's nothing but the "lively" personality archetype but yeah, Ezio was a nice change from Altair but unfortunately he set a standard for the rest of the protagonists that the fanbase bases around. If the Assassin is not funny or charismatic, he sucks.

    Ezio and the animus theory

Plenty have disagreed yes but i'm not the one dismissing the "counter arguments" (which, mind you, were nothing but "No, you're wrong") also, why can't you fanboys just discuss and argue like mature adults instead of resorting to petty insults in an effort to feel good about yourselves? lol...

Indeed it is and quite ironic as well.

    Ezio and the animus theory

Aladdin never killed anyone, though did he? You just picked ONE part of my post and started arguing--There's also killing in there, killing for a selfish reason, no less. Not at the start, Ezio's motivation for the WHOLE game is revenge and killing people whose names appear on a list of...

    Ezio and the animus theory

As I explained above, his narrative arc is poorly executed and he only changes by the last game (Revelations) and his ONLY "mature" moment in AC II was in a paid-DLC. He makes the same poor decisions at 40 (the start of Brotherhood) as he did 23 years ago by 17 in AC II. He's as carefree and as...

    Ezio and the animus theory

Actually, even the narrative lost its vision BEFORE Patrice left. Remember all the philosophical themes of AC I? all the complex death speeches with targets? all the internal conflict and arguments between a Student and his mentor? none of that is there in AC II--all of the complexity and...
