@meganmeave I agree, some developers have a story that they want to share, and for whatever reason they do it through a video game, not primarily for profit.

What about Captain Dare from Halo 3: ODST? She is painfully unattractive, but she plays a huge role in the plot. There's also that girl from portal, who is plain, and you rarely see her anyway.
