I will always finish the single player before I play the multiplayer content. at least for the PC anyway, on my ps3 I play single player only, simply becuase I don't like playing console shooters online.

You do carry over weapons and ammo in a real quake game, this is basically copying the save file to everyone each level if you get what i mean, this in no way detracts from the actual accomplishment.
