For me it was this really old (and odd for that matter) game on either the Nintendo 64 (not likely) or the PS1 (probably), where you play as a young wizard in red robes with a tall blue hat (like the outfit Mickey wore in Fantasia) and you start in a castle... For the life of me I can't remember...
