I can´t believe that some people really think that EA is going to next, THQ and Midway had been on the brink for quite a while when they went bankrupt, EA is no way near that. Its strange how people really haven´t mentioned SEGA more. They have a few franchises that make them some money but...
Shadow of the Colossus was really amazing, I also really liked Super Metroid but my favourite is without a doubt God of War 3. Starts out with the spectacular action.
My first real game was Super Mario World or Final Fight on SNES, dont remember which was the first. But the games that really got me interested in video games and realize gaming could be something deep were RE2 and MGS1. The PSOne really hooked me to gaming.
Seeing some the old characters from Mass effect 1 and 2 in ME3. And also every time Clementine smiled in The Walking Dead, it was strange but made me feel good every time.
I wouldn´t call it creative but I always enjoy the credits in the Gears games, I really like the messages from the actual people that made these games. Not only are some of them funny but it also builds a lot of respect for the devs to see how much they have worked on the games.
That often only works in theory, in reality that end game reward has to be something really amazing or the player will at some point just go "fuck it, its not worth it" unless they have amazing will-power. It has happened to me quite some times when I for example dont even feel like the reward...
Mass Effect 3 or Max Payne 3 probably, but honestly i wouldnt call any of the games this year GOTY quality. Any other year and i probably wouldnt consider them to be honest. Im hoping either Halo och AC will fill that void.
Clayface was good but while we are on the subject of Batman Arkham City my favourite was Freeze. It wasnt to hard and it didnt come down to spamming or mashing combos. It was about thinking and outsmarting your enemy. Loved that one.
Heroes of Newerth if you want deep and fun gameplay. But you cant be depressed by negative comments. Otherwise Dota 2 seems really cool and free to play.
Really agree with that you said. I personally go on nostalgia trips when thinking of 2010. Which of course is weird considering that it wasnt to long ago but it still was a different stage in my life.
