My guess is so you and your friend are even when playing, I know in a LIVE match of World at War I destoryed my friend becauses mainly I had better guns. I think it is so it keeps it even and you need skill in the gun being used to really actually win.

Only problem with most of those choices, mainly Conduit, MadWorld, No More Heroes is that they are good for one play thru. You play once and you've basically done it all. Boom Blox is fun, but after you beat it and try each challenge it gets boring.
