Judging By The Cover: Judging 1-2-Switch

Surprised Yahtzee didn't pick up that BOTH the images showing hands imply Nintendo is obsessed with the age old question of which is better: "left-handed" or "right-handed".

Predicting What's New on the Nostalgia Horizon - The PS1 Era

Brian Fargo is doing quite well for himself by throwing the 20 year rule to wind. Wasteland 2 (sequel to 1988 game) and Bard Tale IV (the last one was also 1988). Perhaps it's more the "20 to 30 year" rule, which really makes it a bit of a non-rule. But cashing in nostalgia is definitely a thing...

Zero Punctuation: Headlander & Quadrilateral Cowboy

I humbly suggest Hacknet for Yahtzee, which sounds somewhat similar to Quadrilateral Cowboy in that you have to type commands (Unix) to hack stuff in order progress and uncover the story. http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/hacknet

Zero Punctuation: Firewatch & Layers of Fear

An interesting thing you can do in Firewatch, I gather, is to NOT respond to ANY of Delilah's chats (i.e. completely ignore her). Apparently she really starts getting antsy, and you get a somewhat different conclusion.

Zero Punctuation: The Witness & Bombshell

IMO the ending (especially the "secret" ending) to The Witness is the biggest pile of wank in the entire history of gaming. Yahtzee actually did himself a favour not bothering with completing it.

Judging By The Cover: Judging Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'm going to on a limb here, but I'm guessing you haven't played Crusader Kings 2? I hope I'm right BTW, because I'm not sure I could handle the very idea of a game even more convoluted.

Why Is Every AAA Game Hero Suddenly Your Dad?

Ass Creed: Syndicate has definitely not been "dadified", with the Frye twins being in their early twenties. Neither has Far Cry 3 or Far Cry 4. You can find counter examples easily enough.

How to Make A Slasher Video Game

So basically what you're saying is that your ideal slasher game is, as near as I can tell, pretty much IDENTICAL to the core gameplay of Hitman (except, uhm, you're killing teens and are forced to get "Silent Assassin" on every level), a game that came out in 2000 and has had like 5 sequels? Why...

The Worst Part of Each King's Quest Game

I remember getting got KQ 3 for my birthday, and I was so super excited.... until I played it.

Zero Punctuation: Axiom Verge & Stealth Inc 2

Yep with Jim Sterling gone, and now this, it's becoming pretty hard to motivate myself to coming here at all. After disabling both Adblock+ and Ghostery I finally managed to get to this video to play on Chrome. Will be watching Yahtzee on YouTube from now on. Adiós.

Risen 3: Titan Lords Review - Titanfail

I've always been a fan of the Risen games, and will almost certainly check out Risen 3. Cheesy, bit dodgy, but like Jim says, they have a certain charm you can't quite put your finger on. I see Gamespot gave it 7/10 - about the same rating given to the other games in the series.

Infinity Runner Review - Temple Run Meets Mirror's Edge And The Howling

"Is anybody even reading this?" Judging by the number of comments the answer is pretty much: no. As for the game it seems a strange genre for the PC, which by its very nature has versatile gaming controls via keyboard/mouse, i.e. infinite runners are a natural fit for tablets since FPS...

Building a Legacy by Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

Seems to me the movie industry is just as bad as the games industry in rebooting/remaking franchises DESPITE the ready availability of the originals. Conan the Barbarian, Robocop, Total Recall, Carrie etc. Just take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_film_remakes_A-M and...

Bound By Flame Review - Mild Fire

This sounds a bit like the Risen and Gothic games. Cheesy, low-budget RPGs that are still somehow totally compelling and well worth playing. Risen 2: Dark Waters had pirates in it ffs. Pirates!

Jimquisition: Watch_Dogs: A Vertical Slice Of Steaming Bullshots

Is there any chance that Watch Dogs will indeed look like the original E3 trailer on PC (which they were running it on)? Did they promise, at the time, that it would look like that on ALL platforms for which it was going to released (which I doubt, since they had no idea of the next-gen specs)...
