If I ran the games industry......

You would run the entire gaming industry into the ground within a month. There is nothing wrong with companies seeking profits, and many of these ideas are obviously unprofitable. I mean equal advertising for indie games? With what budget?

    Gamers over 20 "You're weird"

They're trying to prove that he is criminally insane and has issues discerning from video games and reality. At a guess this comes from a greater context where they're trying to say that the level of obsession to take the world as real isn't normal in a 20 year old. Although that's also pretty...

Prosecutors Blame "Violent" World of Warcraft for Breivik's Shooting Spree

It doesn't actually look like anybody but the article is blaming video games. Prosecutors asked him about his video game habit, seeing as how it's a pretty big part of his life. An expert claims that he couldn't differentiate between video games and his real life, clearly because they're angling...

    Video Games & Religion:

There was always a different culture around the Greek/Roman gods anyway, it was completely okay to make up stories about those gods because they never really had a central text governing the religion. It essentially amounted to pray to whatever god for good favour and they may help you out, and...

Has anybody else ever backtracked a generation?

Unlike most I actually liked the cutscenes. Chalk it up to personal taste. MGS3 is probably the most straightforward of the series, the plot is a bit crazy but there are some pretty interesting characters throughout the game to keep you interested, and it's not all over the place like 2 and 4...

Has anybody else ever backtracked a generation?

PS2 was a very good generation, probably my favourite console. If it's up your alley, Metal Gear Solid 3 was one of my favourite games of all time. It definitely helps to understand the game if you play 1 and 2 first, but it can stand alone if you aren't interested in following up the entire series.

Things You Don't Know About the English Language

Well, meanings change over time so your original two aren't quite right. It may have been like that in older forms of English, but to use that form of 'due' in current English would be just as wrong as using our form back then. As for my fact, pretty much any word three syllables or longer...

    Religious Freedom

You're quoting ehow, but several average Jewish people have been commenting on this thread telling you that it is not religious, but traditional and wholly not indicative of religious affiliation. I hate to accuse but I am sensing a bit of confirmation bias, choosing only sources that back up...

    Religious Freedom

Mr Somewhere, the reason people are making a fuss is mainly just a misunderstanding. What he was saying was disrespecting Jewish beliefs, not out of menace but just becuase he didn't understand the concept and meaning behind the skull cap. Nobody ever asked him to take place in any active...

    Religious Freedom

People just use the term skullcap because the terms kippah and yamoulkah are a tad more foreign. They are all acceptable ways of referring to it. The point of the kippah is little more than tradition. As a form of respect, males cover our heads when we enter a sacred place. Any covering will...

    Religious Freedom

I think people don't quite get the whole wearing the skull cap deal. It's not a statement of "I believe in this God," it's not forcing you to take part in a ritual. It would better be equated to removing a hat when you walk into a church or not showing cleavage in a mosque. It's not polite to...

A New Gameplay Innovation [Trezu's Idea for a Online Shooter]

Basically Deus Ex had that exact health system you just stated, it's not a new concept at all. Also, all the classes just seem like needlessly complex versions of games that already exist (TF2 comes to mind). Not to mention the plenty of objective based game types that we know are incredibly...

    Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (spoilers)

    1) What, exactly, was the Tome of Eternal Darkness? Do they ever explain the origin? I kind of presumed it was something conjured by Mantorok to take care of the other gods. He was the one manipulating everyone across time, right? I don't think I have any basis for the speculation, but it makes...

Poll: was israel right for Attacking Gaza

Okay, so I am not an expert and willing to admit this. If someone knows more I am glad to listen. I am under the impression that Israel was obtained by a mass land purchase afet World War II. Any corrections are welcomed. But working with this, if the same claim to land can be used by both...

Poll: was israel right for Attacking Gaza

Palestinians were moved to a perfectly functional environment. It was able to function on its own, they just didn't run it properly. They were not herded into a community until they were killed. They were not starved and hunted down like animals. I am always upset when this comes up, the...
