I think it's just that I like my character to be a strong woman. A badass one. My Fable III character was wearing fancy dresses, but that didn't keep her from leading a rebellion sword in hand, fighting off hollow men, punch a few faces and sentence her own brother to death.
I think it was in Mario 64. That mission where you have to bring that baby penguin to its mom. When you throw the baby over the edge after the mom gives you her star.
The level starts and I see the baby penguin. It wants its mommy. It is lost and sad ans scared. I could leave it to die alone...
But let's be honest here: AC's story was about Altair and AC2's was about Ezio. Diffrent characters, diffrent location, diffrent era. Desmond and friends are only an excuse to explain the "you're in a memory" mechanic so you can't just kill everyone during a mission.

I'd have to say Shadow the Hedgehog.
Horrible camera, bad graphics (except a few cinematics), bad controls.... and I played it for over 100 hours easily. I think giving Shadow a gun is a stupid idea, but hey, it works for me.
