Anyone interested in creating an absurd beat'em up/platforming, hero/anti hero game?

What kind of engine are you looking for, what does it need to be able to do? I know you dont want to reveal story but without any idea about what kind of things you are going to need to be written not many people are going to be interested in helping. SO without revealing any story...

Piracy staying legal in Switzerland - "Pirates still contribute"

Well, heres where you are getting the wrong end of the stick. In this thread we are discussing piracy as simply copying data, not then selling it. Using your example of a fake rolex, its as if you made fake rolexs then gave them away. No one is suggesting that priating data and then selling it...

Piracy staying legal in Switzerland - "Pirates still contribute"

If companies only copied things that i own, i lose nothing. Now if they copied something i own then sold it on, that is illegal (i think pirates selling illegal copies is wrong and should be stamped out) If they stole something i own then i would lose out. Piracy only involves option 1...

Piracy staying legal in Switzerland - "Pirates still contribute"

Piracy is not the same as conventional stealing. Stealing definition (from a dictionary): 1. To take (the property of another) without right or permission. 2. To present or use (someone else's words or ideas) as one's own. Piracy TAKES nothing, it only copies the property of another...

    What Bethesda Needs to Do

the problem is that mods are just not written carefully enough to be completely compatible with each other, and the amount of work bethesda would have to go through to make them compatible would tie them up for a long time to come. No, let the console gamers have their vanilla game, let PC...

JRPGS vs Western RPGs. What's your preference?

well in that case you would take around 100 hours to finish a jRPG. Its a fact that jRPG's cant get away with making short games because they arent marketing at the cod/halo crowd whose short attention spans makes a game that takes longer than a single weekend to complete pointless. Edit: Of...

JRPGS vs Western RPGs. What's your preference?

JRPG's. This is simply because a jRPG offers more gameplay for your money. Average time to finish a jRPG = 40+ hours only a few wRPG's match this (this is a modern trend, it wasnt always like this) for example all bioware games = 20 hours abouts for a full play through.

My University has blocked online gaming

Actually, if you arent paying them for the internet, and are getting it from an external provider, they have no right to limit your internet usage (only the provider can do that). There isnt much you can do about it though short of taking them to court over it (assuming a nice little chat with...

I Want to Make a Game

Hey there, nice to see you are taking an interest in game design. I myself am currently coding an engine for my own 3D games, so if you tell me exactly what you want the engine to be able to accomplish, i can modify my engine and let you use it for your game (though you'd still need to do all...

Anyone played Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga?

Unlike most games, Divinity 2 was made in Germany, and took a while to get translated into English :p Ive got it in the original German and its very very good, a bit slow to start but it gets epic once you unlock the ability to transform. Havent tried this new expansion but its a solid rpg...

    Is pre-ordering really worth it?

Preordering can be for reasons other than getting bonuses or getting it on day 1. For example i pre ordered Skyrim for pc from amazon a month ago because i saw it online for £19.99. Now that is a significant saving on a game i WILL get (i love modding), as i assume that the release day price...
