I got to play some of the beta or alpha or whatever it was on steam, and while the game looked interesting a multiplayer-only game with very limited match types just isn't worth 60/80/100 dollars to me (yes, there is a 100$ bundle oO).

Not to interrupt the lively pc versus console debate going on in this thread, but I'd just like to say the original PC Gamer article was just... really bad. I don't understand how it got spread around so much in the first place.

Amusingly, according to the US Census ( http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html ) 50.8% of the US population is women. So that would mean that the pc gamer demographic still isn't an even slice of that apple pie yet, even including (dry heave) social gamers.

Really modern society's doing pretty good, to be honest - a lot of what I see in this thread is stuff I would either not want in the slightest, or really seems like wishful thinking (i.e. yeah, that's what they *said* they did back then).

Admittedly I only played a little on my friend's ps4 while I was over, but I wish they did a better job of communicating this. Would have explained a lot, honestly.
Alternate perspective: as someone who has a somewhat decent idea of what goes into creating a game, the sheer effort of programming and testing all the possibilities of a second kind of marriage is a big investment in manpower for what appears to be the work of a smallish group.

The problem I have with subscription based MMOs is everything in them is designed to take an excessive amount of time to accomplish (with WoW's do-this-every-day-for-a-month dailies leading the charge).
Since my friends aren't interested I think I'll be sitting this one out.
