Actually, this sentiment is becoming less true over time. There seem to be more examples in the last couple of years of series using season 1 to use up the source material (mangas, games, etc) and then having an anime exclusive second season. Or, remakes, such as the 2nd Fullmetal Alchemist...

Both Bioshocks have a nicely inverted difficulty curse. The first few levels where the hardest, especially on the higher difficulty settings. After you get a few stronger weapons? Piece of cake.

The biggest problem is that Bioshock thrived on its atmosphere more than anything else. It felt fresh, so it worked. The sequel merely copied the same atmosphere, only it doesn't feel so fresh the second time around. My personal opinion for a 3rd game take place after the second one...

I don't have much a problem with this, other than it might be problematic if you have multiple people in the household who want to play the game. As for his worry about "exhaustion", that's what custom games are for. Hopefully the custom map engine is at least as robust as WC3.

My problem with WaW was that the campaign felt like nothing more than a glorified shooting gallery, with targets popping up. It never managed to really capture feeling like you were in real combat. At least you switched to veteran and were spammed by 12,000 grenades per minute.

I'll agree on the Dreamcast. It really had no huge, must have killer apps for it, but it seemed to have no terrible games either. I picked it up right after it went dead for cheap and had a good time

I haven't played the Fable games as a PS3 owner, but I tend to stay away from games more known for their director than the game content itself anyways

Patch 1.01 is up on the PS3, adds an install feature. Cuts the load times by 70%. Very nice, but why wasn't it here already?
