I'm tired of playing violent games.

Let's see, you have almost every dance and music rhythm game out there. My girlfriend and I play lots of DDR together. Lots of indie/downloadable games. Braid is one of my favorites and is very light on violence, though you do stomp on the odd evil bunny. There's also World of Goo. I might...

Alpha Protocol: Is it worth getting?

I'm just going to copy and paste my thoughts on the game from a post I made on another forum: I was honestly astonished when I played this game. It's nowhere near as bad as the critics made it out to be. The massive double standard they displayed when comparing this game to Mass Effect was...

    Dark Souls: Initial Thoughts

Not true. There's a bonfire if you kill the Burrowing Rockworm near the last of the Capra Demons. You still have to go through a Capra Demon, several demon statues and a Taurus Demon to pass through the gate, but you don't have to go through all of the waves of Capra Demons.

He is ignoring points. It is dishonest. I do not appreciate it. I am going to call him on it, especially since I predicted it. I do not simply "ignore" arguments I disagree with. I believe that invalidates the entire purpose of debate and discussion. I am perfectly capable of civil debate when...

No, they're talking about the Black Knight guarding the Blue Tearstone Ring. Not a particularly useful ring but it's better than nothing if you can get it.

Ta da! And he does it again! Addresses none of the counterpoints and responds with only insults! What a display ladies and gentlemen!

    Dark Souls: Initial Thoughts

I love the way you ignore everyone's counter-points only to skulk back here and repeat your already demolished arguments. You're hilarious. Like a clown. In case you haven't noticed, enemy attacks are much slower than those you will find in, say, Ninja Gaiden. Somehow everyone except you has...

Yeah, but it can be a while before you figure out you can go back to the asylum, never mind the ability to trade. I think most people will know about the curse curing item from perusing Oswald's stock, and any player who hopes to succeed had better be perusing every merchant's stock. :P

I like the cursed ailment too, but I wouldn't say he's a bad player for failing to avoid it. If you don't know it's coming, you might just register the meter as a similar ailment to poison or bleeding. However, if you've paid attention to the purpose of items on the course of your journey it's...

    Dark Souls: Initial Thoughts

The merchant in the aqueduct that leads to Firelink Shrine sells the cure. You can't get to the Depths without getting access to her, and it requires very little backtracking to reach her. There are indeed some examples of odd distribution of items though, most notably embers. In Demon's...

For pyromancy, the only stat you need is attunement, which gives you more attunement slots. Whichever sorceries, pyromancies, or miracles you wish to equip will fill these slots. Sorceries will also have a certain intelligence requirement, while miracles require faith. EDIT: Agh, double post.

    You need intelligence, not faith.

    Dark Souls: Initial Thoughts

The setting of Demon's Souls actually reminded me a lot of A Song of Ice and Fire. A dark, foreboding, and incredibly dangerous fantasy setting. No elves, dwarves or orcs. Magic (or "soul arts") is a double edged sword. And an evil threat descending on the land that turns people into zombies. :P...

Do you have the Cast Light sorcery? It will make your life much easier in that area until you get the lantern. You get it from the Dusk of Oolacile who you unlock by killing the Golden Golem mentioned earlier in the thread.
