Well the most iconic power up has to be the Super Mushroom, say power up and that silly thing is the first thing to pop into the average gamer's head. As for my personal favorite, I'd have to go with the Heavy Machine Gun from the Metal Slug Series, made life so much easier.

My vote would actually have to go to Yu-Gi-Oh: Duelist of Rose, taking a collectible card game and turning in into a TBS was unique and actually quite fun to play
