This. To the news-posting staff: It would be nice to have little disclaimer when you post TAS-videos, because two thirds of this thread is just people thinking this is a live speedrun. It just makes regular speedrunners look bad, as people don´t realise it´s done frame-by-frame.

Okay, after having read most of the responses in this thread, and judging from my own reaction ("What, a cover system? To the forums!") I think Russ´ comment about the game needing a cover system was actually some kind of meta-joke, that no one got. :-) (If not: What, a cover system? What for?)

"Room over room" <- That is precisely what I meant. Quake literally added another dimension to shooter gameplay.

Happy Birthday Quake! Didn´t play QTest, but tons and tons of coop Quake with my father. At first I couldn´t really appreciate the graphical improvement over DooM, but once we got to the more vertical levels, in episode 2 and 3, I realised that this was "real" 3D, instead of the 2.5D of DooM...

Haha, yeah, I loved that paragraph too! :-) Recently watched a 30-minute video interview with Mustaine, and when he was asked about Metallica he was like "I really dont want to talk about this"... and then went on a five minute rant about Metallica.

Yeah, you are not alone with this habit, I think I first did it in Baldur´s Gate 1, with Montaron and Xzar. Also, BG1 had one genre-savvy NPC that knew how to (partially) prevent this: Xan, he had a sword that only he can use. (And it´s a really cool sword, basically a laser sword.)

A cat named Spot and a treasure chest that follows you around, well played Mr. Funk. :-) Might have to check this out, if only for the Matt Uelmen Soundtrack.

You know what I really like about the character creator in Mass Effect? I looked at the comic and immediately thought: "That´s not commander Shepard, he looked totally different" :-)

Hehe, I still have the original Rocket Knight Adventures and Sparkster lying around here, nice games. But I hope they orient themselves more on the first game than the second, it was vastly superior. (Even graphically, I still can´t believe how they could make a sequel that has FAR worse...

Death Rally! Nice! A friend and I played it a again a few month ago, because he had a PC with Win98 standing around, good times. "I got petrol in my veins!"

Fun little game. Farthest i got on frantic difficulty was level 4 (In episode 3). One thing: You can actually make all enemy bullets the same color in the options menu. (For those that just jumped in and confused bullets and powerups. ^^)
