Your post is bullshit and you know it. Anyone without a learning disability can handle "gifts" like Summons (mash A to win), item expansion (use organics, then mechanics), and being able to rotate characters in and out of your fucking party without twenty hours of handholding.
It's not 20 hours until you get to the story, the story starts immediately. It's twenty hours until you get to anything resembling nonlinear gameplay.
