At long last, I have finally found the name of this game. One minor detail of my recollection was off which is why it difficult to pinpoint the game - it was actually for Dreamcast, not for PS1 and the title was "Evolution: The World of Sacred Device". Later ported to GameCube as "Evolution...
Second game still up in the air, but I found the name of the first game which turned out to be Shadow of the Beast. The recent PS4 release helped me to remember.
Anything like year or similar details? I've scoured every listing of gamecube games with any variant of turn based gameplay and none of them had anything like what you've described. It sounds like it has a Final Fantasy Tactics-esque field of movement to it and there's not a whole lot like it in...
You are most welcome my good sir! :) And thank you for actually responding to whether the game was correct or not, I've answered several people in this thread without hearing back from them on if my research was fruitful or not - which is slightly miffing - so thank you for not being one of...
Actually, there are two other titles I played as a young child that have come to mind in my attempts to help other posters. I highly doubt I'll be helped with these ones because I remember so little of each title. So, as I continue to try to help others, maybe I can be helped to figure out my...
If anyone had a guess for the title of your game, I am sure you would have been quoted with one. You are likely one of many who has yet to receive an answer for their query in this forum (something that should actually be sorted, somehow, for those who haven't yet had their game figured out...
Pretty sure I found it this time, it has a strange title... anyway, the game is Seme COM Dungeon: Drururuaga [http://towerofdruaga.wikia.com/wiki/Seme_COM_Dungeon:_Drururuaga?file=DrururuagaCover.jpg]
There are only two games by Namco which were released on Game Boy Color, which wereTales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon and Mr.Driller, and neither of which accurately fit what you've described. So, I don't think it was by Namco.
Would it possibly be Magi Nation?
One of the Twisted Metal titles, perhaps? There were four on the original PS.

There was also the Vigilante 8 series which spawned two titles and both were featured on PS1.

Lastly...
I'm going to repeat what I did for another user that posted (and it ended up working, so who knows?) and give you this list of point and click games.
http://www.giantbomb.com/point-and-click/3015-75/games/
Beware though, there are 19 pages to sift through and there doesn't seem to be a way...
Do you happen to know if it had educational elements? Simple puzzles seem to indicate the possibility, but it doesn't necessarily mean it was education-centric. But if you remember, it might help in narrowing down. Year you played it around as well can help.
It's totally awesome when you've attempted to help a person in this thread, and then they never post again afterwards so you never know if you helped them or not ;)
