    Fallout: New Vegas

Hey, he said something kind of nice about Pokemon. That's...shocking. And maybe a little heartwarming. Good on you Yahtzee. I do hope you review Black and White when they come out. Your bleak and blistered soul could use a little manufactured cuteness to warm its dehydrated confines.

Japanese Fallout: New Vegas Ads Hate On JRPGs

Man, that advertisement is pretty spot-on. Final Fantasy XIII WAS shit. ...oh what? It was talking about JRPGs in general? ...eh. I can't argue. Outside of the Shin Megami Tensei games, I can't remember a JRPG that came out in the last five years that gave me any sort of control over the...

It's a Studio Ghibli double feature--let's review Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro!

I guess arguing about the dubs is better than the utterly retarded debate about whether Castle in the Sky should or should not have a soundtrack (it should). But for the record, I've only seen the Hollywood dubs, and I have absolutely no problem with them, because Princess Mononoke had Billy...

It's a Studio Ghibli double feature--let's review Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro!

I love, love, LOVE Castle in the Sky. Absolutely love it. It is in my top 3, next to Spirited Away and Mononoke. It's probably tied with Howl's Moving Castle, but I'd have to put Castle in the Sky higher just because of how damned epic it gets.

It's a Studio Ghibli double feature--let's review Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro!

Alright, alright, one down, I've got a shiny new concussion andsdjlajkhsdkajgsdafkajsdcsj Kiki's Delivery Service! --- Ah, the one Miyazaki film everyone saw--except me. Until a few days, I'd somehow managed to willfully avoid watching this movie, partially because I wasn't that interested...

It's a Studio Ghibli double feature--let's review Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro!

Ah, Hayao Miyazaki. The reigning champion of Japanese animation, and probably one of the finest storytellers in the world, Hayao Miyazaki is and always has been amongst my favorite animators. I've slowly made my way through his filmography, and have taken the opportunity to watch some of his...

Coat on, coat off--The Karate Kid (remake)

I worried a little about this, but how much of a spoiler is it that "the hero wins"? Trust me, I didn't describe everything--there's a key detail that should surprise folks...but if you've seen the original, the surprises are NOT at the end.

Coat on, coat off--The Karate Kid (remake)

Hey guys. Saw the Karate Kid, here's my opinion, please be impressed. --- The Karate Kid is yet another remake of yet another classic film that I never bothered to see all the way through. I knew the basic story and all the main scenes of the original, but I went to go see this with a fresh...

A love letter to arrows and democracy--let's review Robin Hood

Man, do you guys remember Robin Hood? I do. Legendary Outlaw, pitted against a fiendish but largely incompetent Sheriff trying to save the good people of Nottingham from the corrupt aristocracy by robbing them of their ill-gained wealth and delivering it to the poor. From Prince of Thieves to...

    If you met God

No, I refuse. I refuse on the grounds that: A) The religious community doesn't extend ME anywhere near the same respect, what with telling me I'll go to Hell for what I believe or scoffing at the notion that I'd question the existence of a loving God. B) Are you telling me that, if we are...

    If you met God

I'd punch him in the face. If I was more prepared, I'd outright kill him.

    Rebecca Mayes Muses: The Machine

Ok, so here are some Yahtzee lyrics I can come up with off the top of my head. You'll probably have to trim them or otherwise make them suit music: With maniacal glee and antipathy He delights me With his love of tea and pickle I just wish his heart wasn't so fickle Sure he's got his...

    Kick-Ass: It sure does

I'm very sorry for that terribly predictable pun. --- Kick-Ass is a genre-blurring deconstruction of both super hero movies, teen comedies, and the very concept of vigilantism in today's society. Oh, and it's got a 12-year old mass-murdering, trash-talking ninja in it. Suffice to say, this...

Final Fantasy XIII--A fittingly final fantastical review

Yeah, I know that this is pretty late, but I was dedicated to at least FINISHING the game before I reviewed it and, as Yahtzee alluded to, the bloody thing is fucking long as hell. That being said, I've gotten all the way up to the very end of the game and have hit a brick wall and if I don't...

The many sides of Jesus Christ Superstar

Now, I'm probably the last man of my generation who actually LIKES musicals. I do! I love the blending of music and storytelling, the vibrant stages, the intricate choreography, the bombastic score, setting an emotional network upon which the story can unfold. But even I admit that there are...
