seems fairly frivolous to me - after all, if everyone's got the same equipment, providing its not way out of balance, whats the problem? And there's no point trying to claim its for "realism", because if you really cared, and i cant see why you would, you'd go play something like ARMA.

I tend to agree with the OP, but people tend to stick to what they know, and a lot of people know call of duty all too well.
