    Spore and its DRM

    If your machine meets the minimum requires, then the overhead caused by the DRM should be a non-issue. The fact that they only let you install it on three machines.... That's a problem, why? How many different machines do you need to play it on? I like the fact that they're using net-based...

    Planescape: Torment.

    Some of my fondest gaming memories are from torment. I saw a copy in the bargain games section are Target the other day. There's some on amazon too, but it looks they're charging collector's prices

    Wow. Having played the game, I could picture all of the elements you were describing. Very well done.

    Kane and Lynch sells 1 million copies. Much ado about nothing.

    m_jim: I will "chill" when game companies stop producing crap and telling us how awesome it is. Honestly, I didn't have a big problem with the actual graphics. They looked OK. The problem is that a game with just "OK" graphics should have a solid and consistent framerate. K&L does not. The...

    Kane and Lynch sells 1 million copies. Much ado about nothing.

    This argument about whether or not K&L is any good highlights one of the biggest pitfalls in critical journalism. Just because something is objectively bad doesn't mean people won't enjoy it (hello, Chuck and Larry [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0762107/]). If you look at it objectively, with a...

    Kane and Lynch sells 1 million copies. Much ado about nothing.

    I got K&L on release and it is, IMHO [http://www.secretlemur.com/node/140], a heap of shit. Maybe not the worst game I've ever played, but an excellent example of just how bad an AAA title can be. The fact that it's sold a million copies says more about the irrelevance of the gaming press...

    Guitar hero controller compatibility.

    the guitar hero 2 and 3 controllers and the rock band controllers for the 360 ALL work on guitar hero 2, 3 and Rockband for the 360. They should also work on PC, since they're USB and windows has drivers for 360 controllers. The 360 controllers do NOT work on the PS3 The PS2 guitar hero...

    EGM "Banned," Hsu Cries Foul

    As the proprietor of the (recently launched) independent game review site SecretLemur.com [http://www.secretlemur.com], I really really hope you're right. I have to buy every game I review, and with 102 reviews so far...well, you do the math. Thing is, I don't expect I'll ever get review copies...

    Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings: Tenative Review

    7.5 out of 10 IS solid, even in a world where games are rated on a 5 to 10 scale, that's pretty solid. 8 would be good. 9 would be great. And 10 would be perfect. There's a huge difference between grading your learning and grading game quality. A game that does %75 of what does well is worth...

    Is music relevant to games today?

    >>Eric Brosius released his System Shock 2 soundtrack several months ago. oh my god oh my god oh my god That is my favorite sound track of all time. I have hours and hours of fan remixes, but didn't know about this. Woot!

    Is music relevant to games today?

    Of course music in games is important. It's just taking on different roles that some of us old-schoolers might not recognize. In the olden days, games were simple. People didn't talk. Environmental sounds did not tip you off to the presence of enemies. In short, the environment of the game...

    MGG=REVIEWS-KANE AND LYNCH DEAD MEN.

    SatansBestBuddy: I see your point. And my apologies go out the original poster. I truly did not mean it as a case of one-up-manship, but rather an alternative viewpoint.

    MGG=REVIEWS-KANE AND LYNCH DEAD MEN.

    I also reviewed K&L for http://www.secretlemur.com, my games review website. I gave it the thrashing it so badly needed: Kane and Lynch: I hope they die in the end. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is the latest release from the same people that created Hitman. And quite frankly, I expected better...
