    In the comics, Cap's shield is a combination of Vibranium/Adamantium. The Adamantium makes it indestructible, the Vibranium allows it to absorb kinetic energy without transferring it to the holder (comic book physics people).

    the "Why didn't they just shoot Voldemort?" thread

    "But Harry spends a good amount of time in the real world. There really isn't a good reason for him not to at least consider, at least for a second "Why don't I just shoot him?" Harry grew up in the UK, they outlawed guns ages ago. Why would he think about using a gun against Voldemort?
