I'd probably go with sequels are usually better and/or add more gameplay, but if the game was great for its story and not known for its gameplay then the first is usually better. Personally I like games to have story but I play more for gameplay so I usually like sequels better.

I see. Though many may have a death,failing relationship, or other event to bring about emotion, I'd say nearly half the anime I've seen are just for laughs without any downer scenes.

all of them? is that an anime or are you saying all anime are emotional/sad. While all anime do evoke an emotion, most of the time its not sadness thats evoked

not sure how deathnote is sad.... edit: seeing as how i dont know how to spoiler yet ill just take that out... nvm found it

well if ur looking for a more mature anime I'd go with elfen lied. Starts off as a cool gory action anime, but gets quite sad at the end. I didn't cry but i was depressed for most of the day when I finished it
