    Difficult or Cheap?

Two games that I instantly think of when thinking "tough, but fair" are Godhand(PS2) and Fallout 3. Godhand will show you the game over screen many, many times, but so far it's never been because of cheapness, it's because of my own mistakes. I don't swear at the game, at swear at myself for...

    Zero Punctuation: Mercenaries 2

Nice to see the ads have been cut back to a few relevant seconds at the end...where they can be safely ignored.

    Sacrifice, By Shiny

Eh, I was more of a fan of Wild 9. Grabbing your enemies with a proto-Gravity Gun, lighting them on fire, and then feeding them into a chipper was good times.

161: Stumbling Into the Kingdom of Loathing

It is a great little game, and I think the attraction of it to some is that it doesn't demand a head full of strategy and hours of time; it can be played in an extremely casual manner, which is rare for a goal orientated game (as opposed to your usual casual-aimed puzzle or flash game). It...

    Underaged children with Microphones.

Team Fortress 2 does pretty well in filtering out the idiots. You still get a few, but not too many. Finding a few good servers and sticking to them helps a lot. Especially ones with overly-fascist admins who take zero crap. Makes the game go a lot better. That said, inspired idiocy is...

whats the most violent game you have ever played?

No More Heroes is gory and violent in the same way Kill Bill is. It's so friggin' bloody you can't take it seriously. It might as well be shot out of a firehouse. The cinematics are also pretty messy, with limbs flying off with alarming frequency and people exploding into showers of blood.

    Zero Punctuation: No More Heroes

Finally beat this thing today, seeing as how I'm pretty lazy when it come to actually sitting down and beating games. The 2nd last boss fight is a long exercise in the described hit and run tactics, but the ending cinematic amused me enough to carry me through. Got to respect a game that...

EA Announces SimCity Creator For Wii and DS

It could work. Well done, it could be great. A touch based take on Sim City 2000 would be pretty fun, as the original was. and the moving timeline sounds pretty good. A city with history would be kind of cool.

Planescape: Torment - A Retroactive Review

Kinda sad this review is all the way in the back of the forum, especially as well written as this one. I like this game, I got lucky with finding the damn thing, but it is quite possibly the most talky, non-violent game made in the RPG genre. Various walk throughs mention that you only have...

    The Last Stand 2

This was a great little time waster, I was almost angry to finish it, it meant I would have to move on. Although the second one is superior in terms of weapons, booby traps, and helper support, the first one will hold a place in my heart for the inclusion of the Barrett, aka Zombie Killer 9000.

Silent Hill (The one with Sean Bean)

I saw this one in theaters, and I still kinda like it, if just for being ambitious. Too many horror movies these days rely on cheap shock jumps, and bad ones at that. You know them well: protagonist walking along, creepy music starts up and OMGITZAKITTY! Or a teenager is listening to music...

    Best game soundtrack?

Bully had a great retro soundtrack that I ended up downloading, as does the The Neverhood. I still hum "Tomatoes and Potatoes and Peas" occasionally. For an individual song, there was some sort of military march theme for a game called Incubation that I got obsessed with and had to track...

    Zero Punctuation: Painkiller

I like the retro reviews. I miss a lot of games and then forget about them; this helps with the catchup. Even for stuff I have played, I like hearing another perspective. It also allows for one to obnoxiously request any old game. MEAT PUPPET! TWINSEN'S ODYSSEY...
