Molyneux: Godus Is "Invest-To-Play," Not F2P

I usually associate Pay-to-Win with games that offer you advantages for coughing up real-world money. Molyneux's term seems like it describes the F2P genre much more accurately than the term "Free-to-Play", since most games in the genre do not offer much "play" unless you pay money.

Zero Punctuation: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

That sounds a lot like what every other reviewer has said about the game. Perhaps Yahtzee intentionally chose this game to do his soapbox because he agreed with what other reviewers were saying for the most part. I have no idea of knowing for sure, though, but if that is infact true, then it...

Steam Machine Maker Says Other Companies "Just Don't Get It"

This might be a great, if morally corrupt strategy, at making a quick buck. But no one here is talking about their financial strategies. We're discussing their vision and the actions that affect that vision. I think that Valve's decision to permit multiple companies to build Steam Machines...

Steam Machine Maker Says Other Companies "Just Don't Get It"

Valve shot itself in the foot by allowing multiple Steam Machines to enter the market. The appeal of console gaming is that a person can very easily pick up a game, put it in his console of choice and be sure it will work. The games are developed specifically for those consoles. With PC...

What would it take to make the Pokemon world and games more interesting?

I didn't really like Team Flare compared to some of the other teams. The reason why is because it felt like Team Flare never really had a presence within Kalos, compared to Team Plasma's presence and Team Rocket's presence within their respective regions. Team Plasma was all over the place...

Minecraft: Video Game Violence's Latest Victim

I don't see what you're saying. Of the two articles linked to, one is commenting on the absurdity of the media for blaming Minecraft as the culprit behind the kid's violence (Kotaku), and one is telling of the story and the events surrounding it (WFTV). The author of WFTV does not directly...

Minecraft: Video Game Violence's Latest Victim

I don't see any news reports blaming Minecraft. The only articles that are out right now are those saying "Minecraft is being blamed." but they don't cite any articles making the assumption. Only the dad seems to be blaming the game for his child's actions.

Pokemon X and Y Director Discusses Changes in Story

I think they were doing that just to prevent the other team from interfering with their own plans; not necessarily for the good of mankind. Both of them were evil in Emerald. I'm talking about Team Not-So-Evil over here, doing something, and either Mr. Evil or Team Evil doing evil stuff like...

Pokemon X and Y Director Discusses Changes in Story

I always thought it would be cool if the main organization was actually trying to prevent a larger, eviler organization/force from carrying out their plans. For instance, what if, say, Team Galactic had to imprison Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie in order to prevent a rogue agent from using their red...

Things that got over hyped but ended up a disappointment.

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. This was advertised to be the "next-generation of Pokemon! With sexy new features!!!" What I ended up getting was a couple of dynamic camera angles at the expense of many features that gave the series variety; little distractions that allowed one to take a...

    What defines a "good" game?

I don't think there is any one right answer. Everyone has a subjective opinion on what they consider is good. That being said, I feel like there are certain aspects that help influence a general consensus on how good a game is. Things like how it engages with the player and challenges him or her.
